Brittany Cartwright Reveals "the Hardest Thing" About Planning Her Wedding to Jax Taylor
The Vanderpump Rules fiancée already has a wedding venue and date selected — but one detail is still undecided.
Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are headed to the altar but the road toward their blissful engagement had its fair share of bumps. Most recently, there was the issue of Jax cheating on Brittany with Faith Stowers, and there were a few other hiccups before that. But the past is the past, and Brittany is fully committed to living in the present and embracing how far she and Jax have come.
When speaking to PEOPLE at the launch party for Kristen Doute's James Mae T-shirt line on June 29, the Kentucky native said: "We just have been so happy. I can’t even be upset with him, I can’t stop smiling." She added: "We’re doing very good. It’s just such a happy time right now."
The couple is already knee-deep in wedding planning, and Brittany told the magazine that her beau has been pretty involved in the process — but Brittany's still the boss! "He likes to have his opinion," she said. “I’ll ask him for stuff and he’ll give his opinion. He has good ideas too so I think it’ll be more fun to do it together. But I have the say, actually.”
The SURver also let on where, exactly, she and Jax plan to tie the knot. "I’ve known where I wanted to get married since I was a little kid,” she said. “I’ve talked about it on the show. Even in other seasons, I wanted to get married at the Kentucky Castle so I don’t think that’s a surprise. I have a date set and all that stuff, but I think I’m going to focus on the engagement party first.”
The venue definitely isn't a surprise to us! After all, we've already seen the couple vet the castle. One thing we don't know, though, is who will be in Brittany's bridal party. And the bride-to-be is keeping her lips sealed.
"No one knows who’s a bridesmaid yet,” she told PEOPLE. “And I don’t want to say because my list is so long. I have so many really close friends, from home in Kentucky and here in L.A., so making my bridesmaid choices down to like eight [people] is going to be really hard for me because my list is at like 15 right now. So, that’s going to be the hardest thing.”
