Monique Samuels knows a thing or two about being the new girl. After all, she arrived on The Real Housewives of Potomac scene back in Season 2. And it's that experience of joining an existing group that helps Monique connect with newbies from various Real Housewives franchises, including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, who recently completed her first season, and The Real Housewives of New York City's Tinsley Mortimer, who is currently in her second season. Turns out, Monique had some words of wisdom for Tinsley when they met right before her first RHONY reunion.
"We actually talked before she did her reunion and I was just giving her my experience 'cause I had filmed [mine] already at that point. So we were talking and really bonded that way and, actually, I saw her a few weeks ago when I was [in New York City] for her Rebag event," Monique recalled during an interview with The Daily Dish podcast.
When asked what advice Monique specifically gave Tinsley, the RHOP mom didn't hesitate to share.
"One of her concerns was the fact that this group of women, they've known each other for so long and she's new and I was like, 'Well, I'm kinda in the same situation.' So I told her, 'Anything that's on your mind, speak it. Don't be afraid just because they have this chemistry. Just say whatever's on your mind.'"
However, Monique laughed and admitted: "She didn't listen." Monique also shared that she can empathize with Tinsley as a newbie. "Tinsley is so sweet. I can't even imagine that dynamic of women. I mean, Real Housewives of New York! They've been around a long time so that can be quite intimidating."
Tinsley isn't the only 'Wife from another franchise that Monique has befriended. She has Housewives friends from the East to West Coasts and in between.
“I actually talk to Leeanne Locken from [The Real Housewives of] Dallas," she revealed. "I talk to Cary Deuber from Dallas, I talk to D’Andra [Simmons] a lot over on Twitter. I call her sis all the time. She’s so sweet. I love my Dallas girls.”
Monique admitted that one encounter with a fellow 'Wife left her a bit starstruck.
"I've also talked to [The Real Housewives of Atlanta's] NeNe Leakes," she shared. "I met her about two weeks ago, her and Cynthia [Bailey]. I was so blown away. She is just amazing. Oh my goodness. I guess I should know better by now since this is my second season, but I'm always expecting to see everybody hyped up when you meet them. But she was just so laid back and very warm and welcoming. [She] and Cynthia, they were really, really sweet."
In fact, Monique counts herself as a Real Housewives superfan; check out which other 'Wives she follows in the video above. And don't forget to tune in to The Real Housewives of Potomac every Sunday at 8/7c. Watch a preview of the latest episode, below.
