Ramona Singer Is Selling Her Upper East Side Apartment as Daughter Avery Singer Prepares to Move Out

The iconic Real Housewives of New York City home is on the market for $4.995 million.

Ramona Singer is ready for "a fresh start." The Real Housewives of New York City entrepreneur has listed her iconic Upper East Side apartment for $4.995 million.

How to Watch

Ramona has enlisted the help of Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon of Douglas Elliman to sell her recently renovated  four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom pad. The nearly-2,500-square-foot abode, which we have come to know and love for 10 seasons of RHONY, features an open chef's kitchen, a master bedroom suite, and wraparound windows that have sunlight pouring in the apartment and let you look out onto stunning views of the Big Apple.

So why would Ramona even think of leaving such a lovely place? Well, her daughter, Avery Singer, is getting ready to move out and live in a place of her own, and her home of more than 20 years is more of "a family apartment," Ramona explained to The Daily Dish over the phone on Tuesday. "It's bittersweet, actually, because the apartment is now so beautiful, and Avery's leaving. It's just, I'm going to be walking around that whole wing where she used to be, and I need a fresh start," Ramona shared. "I'm an empty nester, and I think it just makes sense to move to a smaller place. I'm traveling so much more, and I still have the place in the Hamptons. So I just think it makes good, emotional sense for me."

In fact, Ramona said she gets emotional just thinking about being an empty nester. "I'm crying as I think of it, to tell you the truth. So can you imagine when she's gone?" she said. "It's like, I can't be there when she's gone. I just can't. It's too painful."

Ramona said she actually didn't immediately envision herself living with Avery after she graduated from college last year because she was "so used to being independent." "But then having her as a so-called roommate was really easy because we didn't conflict with each other. It was nice to know that she was there," Ramona shared. "Yeah, this is a true break. I need to go on with my life. My job is done with her, so to speak. I think I've done a very good job with her, and she's helped me tremendously getting through my divorce and getting back to my life after divorce. And I think it's important for both of us to be independent, to be on our own."

As Avery, now 23, gets ready to move into an apartment with her closest friends, Ramona said that she is still thinking about where to call home next. "I'm going to rent. It makes no sense for me to start looking. It's a little too overwhelming for me to do everything at once," Ramona said. "You know, part of me wants to stay in the Upper East Side, like in the 60s, because I like being near Central Park, and a lot of my girlfriends live in that area. But then another part of me loves the Flatiron District."

But when it comes to what's inside the apartment, Ramona seems to know exactly what she wants — namely a "mini" version of her current apartment that's about 1,200 to 1,400 square feet with two bedrooms, an open kitchen, a wide living room, large bathroom, and wraparound windows. With a place as gorgeous as this, who could blame her?

All in all, it sounds like Ramona can't wait to see what the future holds. "It's time for me to make a change," she said.

Ramona also recently just unveiled the renovation of her Hamptons home. You can watch her talk more about the makeover, below.
