Carole Radziwill Says She and Tinsley Mortimer Aren't As Close As It Seems

Out of everyone on The Real Housewives of New York City, there was one pair we thought would be pretty solid during this season's reunion: Carole Radziwill and Tinsley Mortimer. But much to our surprise, these two actually did come at odds in one heated moment during the sit-down.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

That came when the ladies discussed, of all things, Carole and Tinsley's friendship and the seemingly closer bond they formed this season (clip above). However, Carole and Tinsley didn't exactly see eye-to-eye on how close they have actually become. "Bethenny [Frankel] made it seem like we were BFFs, thick as thieves, but we weren't," Carole said during the reunion. "We never were. We were friends."

Tinsley then said that hurt her feelings and that she and Carole are close. Although she later admitted "we weren't thick as thieves," Tinsley did appear to be visibly hurt by Carole's comments.

Carole went on to explain at the reunion that her characterization of her friendship with Tinsley was mainly in response to Bethenny's claims that Carole and Tinsley's newfound closeness contributed to the fallout between Carole and Bethenny this season. "You know what I care about? I care about the truth. That's all. The truth was you used this opportunity to say, 'Carole is the kind of person who has to be a BFF 24/7, and she's just not that into me. And Tinsley and her are thick as thieves,'" Carole said. "And that original lie launched this entire story."

Carole clarified her comments on Twitter as Part 3 of the RHONY reunion aired Wednesday night. "[Tinsley] is a great girl and as I said I like her very much but I haven't seen her outside filming the reunion since May," Carole explained. "I do not think she thinks of me as her bestie or inner circle of friends. Period. #truth."

Famous RHONY superfan and the host of the upcoming talk show Bravo's Play by Play Jerry O'Connell thinks he knows why Carole made those surprising comments about Tinsley. Check out his appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Wednesday night, below.
