Teresa Giudice’s Lawyer: She's Reprioritizing Her Life
“I think she’s going to emerge stronger," he says in latest update.
Life has been very different for Teresa Giudice since she’s started serving her 15-month prison sentence in January, but her lawyer says it’s given her an opportunity to prepare for an even better life for herself and her family once it’s over.
In a recent interview with E! News, Teresa’s attorney, James J. Leonard, says the time has had a positive impact on the Real Housewives of New Jersey star. “She’s taking care of her body, she’s taking care of her mind,” he says. “She’s making sure her family’s looked after. She’s reprioritizing things in her life.”
The main priority will, of course, be her family, but Leonard says that business is a close second. “Being with her children, being with her family, being with Joe…and then kind of getting back into whatever she’s going to get back into,” he says. “If that’s television, if it’s different projects, if it’s getting involved with a restaurant, etc.—there are so many opportunities that she has.”
”I think she’s going to take it one day at a time, but her focus is, ‘I want to get back to my freedom, I want to get back to my husband, I want to get back to my parents, my children, and then kind of take it as it goes,’” he continues.
The mother of four has had constant communication with her kids, but her lawyer says their visits are all too short.“She’s able to communicate frequently through email and with respect to her telephone minutes,” he explains. “But those visits, you can kind of escape your reality at that time and you can be with your family, you can hug and kiss them, but at 3:30 they have to leave. That’s a very sad situation, but she’s dealing with it really well.”
So well that he’s confident that once Teresa’s back, she’ll be better than ever. “I think she’s going to emerge stronger, more focused. She’s getting back in touch with her faith. She’s spending a lot of time praying in there and I think the Teresa that comes out of prison is going to wow people.”
