#TBT: That Time Stassi Was on 'Amazing Race'

The 'Vanderpump Rules' star was once a contestant on the popular competition show—watch a clip.

Every Thursday, celebrate #TBT with us as we open the vault to share photos of Bravolebrities before they were famous--or revisit memorable moments from our shows. This week, we’re throwing it back to Stassi Schroeder’s stint on The Amazing Race in 2005.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

Prior to holding court as SUR's Queen Bee, Stassi initially graced our boob tubes as a teenager while competing on The Amazing Race Season 8. Unlike previous seasons of the hit show, where teams consisted of pairs of adults, Stassi's season was a family affair: she competed with her father, Mark, stepmom, Char, and her younger brother, Hunter.

In the clip below from the season 8 premiere, the Schroeder family is introduced from the 4:56 to the 5:33 mark. But unlike the blonde bombshell we've come to know on Vanderpump Rules, a precocious, teen Stassi sported jet-black hair and a fuller face.

"For the Schroeder's, it's us against the world. It’s 'we’re right, and I'm sorry, but we think you're wrong," Stassi’s stepmom warned in their intro interview. (Now we know where Stassi gets her sass from!)

In the first three episodes, the Schroeder family did fairly well, finishing stronger each time in 5th, 4th, and 3rd place respectively. But their luck ran out during the race's fourth leg when Stassi’s father didn't heed her advice, causing them to fall behind and leaving Stassi in tears. (Watch from the 59:49 to the 1:04:00 mark.) Traveling through their home state of Louisiana, the Schroeder's became lost for hours and were beaten to the finish line within minutes by the Gaghan family. (Watch their elimination starting at the 1:22:00 mark.)
