Taylor Swift Claps Back at Kim Kardashian Following Release of Kanye West Phone Call
So, did the singer approve of that controversial lyric in his track "Famous"?
The beef between Taylor Swift, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian just took another unexpected turn. Sunday night, Kim released video footage of the aforementioned videotaped conversation between Kanye and Taylor on Snapchat, which allegedly showed the singer giving the rapper permission to use parts of the lyrics that made the final cut of his controversial The Life of Pablo track, "Famous." The conversation (originally shared on Kim's Snapchat before being re-posted elsewhere) shows Kanye and Taylor cordially discussing the track, with Kanye rapping to her on the phone some of the lyrics — except the part where he refers to her as "that bitch" in the song.
After Kim posted the video — and social media basically erupted — Taylor was quick to respond to the couple, calling the release of the video "a character assassination."
The release of the video came on the same night that a new Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode featured Kim defending her decision to speak out about Taylor in GQ earlier this spring, after the 1989 singer publicly stated that she did not give Kanye permission to rap about her like that in "Famous."
Wherever stans from either camp stand on the matter, celebrities haven't been shy to speak up about the feud between Team Kardashian-West and Taylor. Khloe Kardashian, of course, defended her big sister, writing, "Kim is a savage! Don't f*** with her man hunni." She later even took on actress Chloe Grace Moretz (who has taken issue with Kim in the past and criticized Taylor's squad) after she posted her two cents on the ongoing feud.
Khloe snapped back with the message "Is this the a hole you're referring to @ChloeGMoretz ???" and included a photo of a woman's bexposed behind (which Chloe later pointed out wasn't her in the photo). Their back-and-forth led Orange Is the New Black actress Ruby Rose (and recent Taylor Swift Fourth of July party guest) to get in the mix as well.
Taylor's longtime pal Selena Gomez also addressed the drama by trying to put the focus on other issues going on in the world.
Vanderpump Rules' Stassi Schroeder also weighed into the ongoing beef, via a GIF from her favorite TV show Scream Queens.
When Difficult People star Billy Eichner appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday, he shared his take on the "Bad Blood" singer. "I think Taylor Swift likes to be talked about and is ultimately, uh, likes everything that’s happening on some level," he said.
Below, hear what Chloe had to say about Taylor and Kim when she stopped by WWHL earlier this year.
