Craig Conover Reveals How He's Been Able to Combine His Two Passions: Sewing and the Law
"I think I might be one of the first lawyer pillow makers," the Southern Charm pal joked.
Craig Conover is really proving to be quite the multi-hyphenate. Not only did he pass the bar and can now officially practice law, but the Southern Charm renaissance man also has the skills behind a sewing machine (which, of course, led to this iconic moment). And it's that latter business venture (Craig is launching a line of throw pillows) that is allowing him to use his law knowledge in a way were weren't expecting.
"I think I might be one of the first lawyer pillow makers," he joken when he stopped by The Daily Dish HQ on Monday. "But it's interesting 'cause I can handle a lot of legal documents for the company, and my buddy that I've been working with, it kind of adds to it, but, yes, I'm glad that I have the time to work on the company while I'm at home, but also hopefully volunteer and help some people out in the meanwhile."
That brings us to Craig starting the next chapter in his law career -- and he revealed what he plans to do next with that degree. "I'm really happy to be an attorney now. I can help people out like I've wanted to for a while, fortunately. I hope and I think I have an opportunity to do about 20 or 30 hours pro bono work at the clinic every week in Charleston," he said. "I think it'll be a great way to get my feet wet. I haven't done anything with the law in a few years other than study for the bar. So I can give back and, fortunately, I don't have to do it to make a profit at this point. I like helping people, and that's kind of a great way to get in a courtroom and get some hours under my belt, so I can focus on my pillow line and everything else and still help people out. I think that's kind of the route I want to go."
You can follow Craig's journey every Thursday at 9/8c. Preview, below.
