According to The Washington Post, this year's flu season is one of the most rampant one since officials began taking tally of the illness 13 years ago. This year's strain of the virus is predominately H3N2, which leads to outbreaks of influenza A viruses and two types of influenza B viruses. “Of the viruses we hate, we hate H3N2 more than the other ones," CDC flu expert, Daniel Jernigan, told the publication.

The Washington Post notes that symptoms can differ from patient to patient, but can include fever or feeling feverish and chills (though a fever doesn't always pop up), as well as cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue or tiredness, as well as vomiting and diarrhea.

Get well soon, Adeline!
