NeNe Leakes Dishes on The View Hosts: "I Just Felt Those Girls Weren't Friendly"
The #RHOA 'Wife-turned-Broadway star revealed what her beef with The View hosts is all about.
NeNe Leakes is no stranger to drama, but these days it's coming from outside of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. After NeNe's chilly reception from The View hosts as a guest on the talk show Tuesday, the soon-to-be star of Chicago on Broadway called the ladies "mean girls" in a tweet that has since been deleted.
Now NeNe has revealed why she felt so unwelcome on The View in an exclusive interview with E! News. "I just felt those girls weren't friendly," NeNe said. "I saw the eye rolls. I felt the eye rolls. I was there. I don't know how much was seen on camera, but all the eye rolls and the looking you up and down, that kind of thing. I just think it's really unfair, and it's so unnecessary."
NeNe explained that the larger-than-life personality she has on RHOA may have had something to do with how she felt The View hosts treated her. "People sometimes think that you are something that you are not just by watching you on reality TV, and I get it. Reality TV makes people believe or think something of you that may not necessarily be true," NeNe told E! News. "So sometimes when you enter a room, people are thinking, or they already have their guards up or boxing gloves on thinking that you're going to enter with some sort of air or attitude or something."
But then again, NeNe said she believes that people still associate her with RHOA the most. "I feel like the Housewives of Atlanta is my show. Just keepin' it real with you," NeNe said. "I think when you say Housewives of Atlanta, people say NeNe Leakes. Even with me not being on the show. I'll always have love for Housewives of Atlanta."
Of course, NeNe is never too far from RHOA, even when she's in the Big Apple. NeNe ran into fellow RHOA 'wife Porsha Williams in New York on Wednesday as the two took the city by storm to talk to press.
