Steve Harvey Flubs Announcing the Winner of the Miss Universe Pageant
See one of the biggest TV fails of the year.
And the winner is... well, not Miss Colombia. But she was for a brief moment on Sunday night, when Miss Universe pageant host Steve Harvey accidentally crowned Ariadna Gutierrez the 2015 winner of the annual event. However, the crown was supposed to go to Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, while Miss Colombia was supposed to be declared the first runner-up.
Following the headline-grabbing flub, the talk show host headed to Twitter to apologize for the mistake.
But the moment certainly didn't go unnoticed by Real Housewives of Orange County pal and former beauty pageant contestant, Lizzie Rovsek. "Did that just happen?! Omg! I feel so bad for both girls," she wrote on Facebook. "Such a big moment gone wrong.....I hope Miss Colombia is ok. #missuniverse."
However, Vanderpump Rules SURver/former model Jax Taylor had a more humorous take on Steve's mistake.
Fellow SURver Lala Kent also weighed in on the controversy.
