When Melissa Gorga appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (July 23), the Real Housewives of New Jersey star offered an update on her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice, who is currently serving a 15-month sentence.

"She's doing as well can be expected for the situation," she shared. "She's holding in there. She's really strong and she's really good at keeping it positive, especially when she talks to the girls on the phone and connects with her husband and everyone. And the girls are doing good too."

While Teresa has received visits from her family, including her husband, Joe, and their three daughters, as well as brother Joe Gorga, Melissa has yet to visit the RHONJ wife. "I have not, Joe has," she said. "I requested to go, but I haven't been approved yet."

Melissa elaborated more on the situation in an interview with People, where she noted that the family is doing "really well," adding "I think we've bonded a lot."

Melissa has also been getting in auntie time with Teresa's daughters. "I see the girls a lot," she shared. "Joe has seen Teresa, he's been there to visit her, and I think that we are strong as a family, and I think the kids are doing very well, better than we all thought."
