See How Mauricio Umansky Makes High-Powered Deals Happen Without Breaking a Sweat
The #RHOBH husband's new YouTube series features familiar faces, from Kyle Richards to #MDLLA's James Harris.
Sure, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers know Mauricio Umansky as Kyle Richards' loving husband. But outside of the Richards-Umansky household, he's one of the busiest real estate agents in L.A. — and now fans will get a closer look at his career and his real estate firm, The Agency, in the new docu-series, Real Estate Life.
The series launched on The Agency's YouTube page earlier this month, and Bravo fans will immediately recognize some of the faces that appear in Episode 1, as Mauricio drops in on James Harris' open house to check him out hard at work.
"I'll be honest with you. We didn't tell him we were going to go and film him. That was literally me going out and checking out open houses," Mauricio told The Daily Dish about the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent's cameo. "I usually check out our own open houses first, meaning The Agency open houses. I make sure I know the inventory of The Agency, and then I go look at our competitors'. So that was a real house that was right in our backyard, and he had it open that day. So that was very real. He had no idea what we were doing. That was day one of filming before we told anyone my idea of the docu-series... He adjusted quickly."
Episode 1 may have been about colleagues and seeing what it's like to have Mauricio as a boss and mentor, but Episode 2 puts a focus on his family and includes a cameo from Kyle (which he called "quite cool") as well as one of their daughters. Yes, we all know that Kyle's eldest daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, works with Mauricio at The Agency, but another family member might be getting bitten by the real estate bug. "[Our daughter] Alexia interned with us this summer," Mauricio said, proving that real estate is really becoming the family business.
Mauricio adjusted to sharing his work life on camera quite easily. "Oh my God, so easy! You guys have trained me now! So easy," he joked, noting his wife's seven seasons on Bravo with RHOBH. While Mauricio said that Kyle was more than excited for him to pursue this idea. "She said it was a great idea," he said. "So she was supportive of it and she liked it."
