Manzo Boys' Reality Run-In With the Cake Boss
Brothers loving life at "Hoboken U."
The Manzo boys are moving in on the Cake Boss' turf. Chris and Albie Manzo left mama Caroline and flew the family coop three months ago, setting up their bachelor pad in Hoboken, New Jersey, just four blocks from Carlo's Bakery, the home of TLC's master of fondant. And according to the Hudson Reporter, they recently cruised by to get an up-close look at their Jersey reality competition.
"We were walking by Carlo's Bakery and people noticed us; it was like a madhouse," Albie told the newspaper. "It's the people there [visiting Carlo's] that like the Jersey reality shows, but we enjoy [getting noticed elsewhere]. We don't think we're famous. When we get noticed, it's like it's happening again for the first time."
And the brothers have been getting noticed plenty in their new adopted hometown. While it may be off your radar, Hoboken is a notorious Jersey party spot (if you've never endured their annual St. Patrick's Day bacchanalia, your liver surely thanks you), and the boys have been making the most of it... Well, one of them, anyway.
"It's like being back in college," Albie told the paper. "And Chris never went to college, so it's like he's a freshman at Hoboken U. ... We're not really party boys. Chris is out a lot more than I am."
"That's a nice way of saying he's boring and I'm not," Chris chimed in.
And if the boys keep hitting the town, they might find themselves in interesting company. Kim Kardashian was recently spotted in a Hoboken grocery store (seriously, I'm not making this up), while New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, the Today Show's Natalie Morales, comedian Artie Lange, and Maria Sharapova's beau, New Jersey Net Sasha Vujacic all call the town home.
