Luann de Lesseps and Tom D’Agostino Have Agreed to an Amicable Divorce
"I’m ready to move on to my next chapter," the #RHONY mom shared.
Luann de Lesseps is one step closer to ending her marriage with Tom D'Agostino. The Real Housewives of New York City mom and her ex have agreed to an amicable divorce, which will be finalized soon, The Daily Dish has confirmed.
“I thank my family and friends for their support during this time," Luann told The Daily Dish in a statement. "I’m ready to move on to my next chapter."
Luann reflected on the end of their seven-month marriage in a recent interview with PEOPLE. "It’s what we both decided upon in the end, and even though we decided that, it’s sad,” she said. “It’s an end to something that was so, so incredible. And I just, I’ve got a lot of emotions. I don’t even know what to say. I mean, it’s sad. It’s sad for me, but I’m putting myself to work, keeping myself busy, and trying to move past it and move on to the next chapter of my life.”
The RHONY pal also revealed where things stand with Tom today. “We’re not hanging out, but we’re on friendly terms, let’s put it that way,” she shared. “We wanted it to be amicable, and that’s how we live our lives.”
Luann and Tom tied the knot on December 31, 2016 in Palm Beach. She announced that she and Tom were planning to divorce on Twitter on August 3. "It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce," she said. "We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!"
Luann later opened up about the split during the Watch What Happens Live One-on-One with Luann de Lesseps with Andy Cohen in September. Tom also commented on the breakup during an interview with E! News last month. "I fell in love, got married quickly and am very sad that two people in love are not together," he shared. "I wish Luann much happiness and love."
