Have Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel Put the Tom Drama Behind Them?
The bride-to-be shares where she stands with the #RHONY crew just weeks before her wedding.
Given everything that happened between Luann de Lesseps and her friends on The Real Housewives of New York City in regards to her relationship with fiancé Thomas D'Agostino, fans might be wondering where things stand today. And according to the Countess, it definitely seems like things are more cordial in the Big Apple these days.
"I see the ladies, you know, in the Hamptons. Ramona [Singer] has a house out there, Bethenny [Frankel] has a house out there. Sonja [Morgan], I've seen around the city. So, I see the girls," Luann told The Daily Dish in between dress fittings for her upcoming wedding. "I think they are excited for me. The girls are happy for me. They now see that this is really happening, and that Tom and I are in love and so they moved on. I moved on. They see that I'm happy, that's all that matters."
With that in mind, there's at least one lady readying to make the trip down to Palm Beach for the nuptials. "Dorinda [Medley]'s one of my bridesmaids," Luann said. "She introduced Tom and I, so I thought it's only fitting that she should be a bridesmaid."
Though, Luann noted, there are a few open seats that could be filled by a few other familiar faces. "I still have a couple invitations that I'm waiting to send out [laughs]," she said. "To be determined. You might see a couple of the Housewives, whoever's on their best behavior and who's gonna be happy for me. I don't want any negative energy at this wedding."
However, it doesn't sound like Luann and Bethenny have mended fences quite yet. As Season 8 wrapped, it was Bethenny who revealed to Luann that Tom had kissed another woman shortly after they became engaged. That revelation then escalated to epic proportions during the reunion. And Luann revealed that things aren't much better today. "Not really. To be quite honest, not really. But, we just haven't seen a lot of each other," she said, adding that she hasn't completely ruled out having Bethenny in Florida for her wedding. "Never say never, but I don't think so."
Luann was also quick to point out that she and Tom are better than ever after that drama. "Well, now that's a year ago so, you know, life is about forgiveness, right? And we love each other," she said. "Tom and I are strong and have never been better. And if we can get through that we can get anything."
One more note about the wedding: If the invited guests (Housewives, or otherwise) are wondering what to get the couple, they might want to think again. "I'm not accepting wedding gifts," Luann teased. "We're having our guests consider giving to charity."
