Luann D'Agostino Explains What's Really Going on in Her Drama with Tom D'Agostino
"We have a very passionate love affair going," the #RHONY newlywed said.
Update: Luann de Lesseps announced that she and Tom D'Agostino plan to divorce on Twitter on August 3. "It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce," she tweeted. "We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!"
Luann and Tom D'Agostino have had quite the week. Reports surfaced earlier this week that Luann and Tom were facing some issues in their relationship.
The Real Housewives of New York City newlywed set the record straight on the gossip when she stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Wednesday night. In regards to Page Six's report that Luann's "marriage is hanging by a thread," the RHONY mom said, "Oh my God, that's so not right."
It was also reported that Luann and Tom had a public argument in which she slapped her husband, which Luann denied. "I did not slap him," she told Andy Cohen. "We have a very passionate love affair going."
Luann went on to call the report just "gossip" and explained that it blew the situation out of proportion. "No, I took his face in a very loving way, and people took it as a slap," Luann said, confirming that she and Tom did have a fight, or a "lovers' quarrel" as she put it, at a New York restaurant. Luann would not name the establishment where the confrontation went down, but she confirmed that it was not at the Regency or Beautique, which have been the site of many famous RHONY moments in the past.
The RHONY newlywed addressed the rumors about her relationship in a statement to The Daily Dish earlier this week. "Tom and I are in love and marriage takes work," she said. "We are working on this together."
Tom expressed a similar sentiment in a statement to Us Weekly. "There is a lot of love here,” he said. “We want it to succeed.”
