Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif Break Down Plastic Surgery Trends, from Kylie Jenner's Lips... to Butts
The #Botched plastic surgeons share what their patients ask for most when stopping by their practice.
Week in and week out, Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif make their patients' wishes come true by fixing up their biggest plastic surgery blunders on Botched. But not everyone who books an appointment with the plastic surgery team is looking to have something corrected. In fact, sometimes patients come in just wanting to look a little more like teen queen Kylie Jenner.
"Well, I think Kylie Jenner, who is probably the biggest emerging superstar socially and digitally that there is, has really created a trend in lip augmentation among very young girls," Terry told The Daily Dish. "So that's really a big trend right now." But it sounds like another Kardashian may have also influenced another big request. (Spoiler: It's Kim.)
"And then buttock augmentation, buttock fat transfers is still very, very popular and getting more popular by the day," he explained.
And it turns out plastic surgery isn't just for older individuals. "And then, of course, earlier facial surgery, earlier stuff done so that you can avoid having the done look [when you're older]. People are just maintaining their youth and their health, wellness and beauty sort of appearance without having to undergo big procedures later in life," the Real Housewives of Orange County husband added. "So it's about doing things earlier, that are smaller and potentially less invasive."
Paul noted that many of these requests are coming from women in their 30s, if not earlier. So what should a novice ask about when they visit a plastic surgeon? Paul broke down some of those possible procedures. "There's numerous things that people are starting off [doing] earlier; minimally invasive little procedures. And then there's some small surgical procedures, such as [what] we're doing right now [like] micro-needling or platelet rich plasma, which someone even in their 20s can do. [It's] little, small needles going into your dermis, the vampire facial — even though we don't use that term anymore." (The vampire facial was once featured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.)
Looking for more options? No problem. "There's also these cool sculpting machines. They're freezing fat instead of undergoing liposuction," Paul explained. "There's also things that heat up the neck and the face called Ulthera. There's a lot of minimally invasive [procedures]. What Dr. Dubrow and I will do when someone comes in and they need a little tweak somewhere, whether it's their eyes or something, that's what we try to do is small surgeries, but they still look very natural, but they absolutely look fantastic." We bet.
