Kim Zolciak-Biermann Opens Up About Being Scared of Becoming a Mom — And How Her Parents Reacted
The #DontBeTardy mom recalls how her mom and dad took the news of her first pregnancy.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann may now be a proud mother of six kids, but there was a time when the Don't Be Tardy mama had some fears about taking on a parenting role. The 38-year-old was only a teen when she found out she was expecting her oldest child, Brielle Biermann, and she reflected on that time in her life in an emotional Instagram post. "Man if you guys only knew how scared I was when I found out I was pregnant with her! Now @briellebiermann is 19 almost 20 and she was one of the best things that EVER happened to me," Kim shared.
In a rare bit of insight into that time of her life, she also opened up about her parents' reaction to the baby news "I also will never forget how supportive my parents were when I told them I was pregnant! #GodsGreatestGift," she said.
During last season on Don't Be Tardy, Kim addressed her relationship with her parents, noting she doesn't speak to them or her brother for the most part. "They did horrible things to me throughout these years in Atlanta and i just let it go and let it go cause those are your parents, right? So they can do no wrong," she shared during a trip to her hometown in Connecticut. "And finally I woke up and was like, 'I'm done playing with you guys.' My mom would charge me as single mom to watch my kids at night, $100 to watch my kids at night so i could work as a nurse. It was terrible," she said, adding that her mom speaking out to the media was also a breaking point. "I said, 'That's it. You will never have the ability to come and hurt my children or me.'"
