Erika Girardi and Kim Kardashian Have a Major Connection and It's Blowing Our Minds
The #RHOBH songstress has more in common with the reality star than you think.
Erika Girardi and Kim Kardashian are two of the fiercest females around. But they have a lot more in common than just living the most fabulous celebrity lives in California.
Stephanie Shepherd, who became Kim's assistant in 2013 before being promoted to the COO of Kardashian West Brands this year, was first hired as an assistant for none other than Mikey Minden, Erika's creative director, when she first arrived in Los Angeles, Refinery29 recently revealed in a profile of the Kardashian inner circle member. Stephanie was hired to help Mikey, as well as his main client, Erika. "When I say I came from a small town, I mean that I would pass cows driving to school. It was country life: bonfires and football games. Our nicest restaurant was Olive Garden," Stephanie told Refinery29. "So when I came out here, it was a whole different thing. I had never seen a Range Rover. I hadn't really traveled, I didn't know what Givenchy was or how to pronounce it. Mikey and Erika took me under their wing and taught me everything. We traveled the world together. They both opened my eyes to so much, about being a hard-working, meticulous assistant, yes, but also just all the things life can offer."
Stephanie, who began her career dancing for the Cleveland Cavaliers before venturing off to L.A., worked for Mikey and Erika for a few years and had a few freelance backup dance jobs for artists like Pitbull. Then, Mikey's business partner and founder of the Pussycat Dolls Robin Antin asked Stephanie if she'd be interested in a new assistant job with her friend, Kim K.
So yeah, you could basically thank Erika for preparing Stephanie for all of her future responsibilities as part of Kim's team, from putting together daughter North West's first strollers to getting Kim ready to walk down the aisle in her wedding to Kanye West to now working on her Kimoji app.
Erika isn't the only Bravoleb to have shared an assistant with a Kardashian. Jeff Lewis Design team member Matt left the company last season of Flipping Out to return to working with his former employer, Kris Jenner.
Of course, Erika and Kim also have a mutual friend in Kyle Richards, who has been tight with the Kardashian-Jenner fam for years.
Now we think Erika and Kim should do more hanging out, don't you?
