Kim Cattrall’s Brother Found Dead Hours After He Was Reported Missing
The actress had asked fans for help in finding her missing brother — only to report the news of his tragic death hours later.
Kim Cattrall is grappling with a heartbreaking loss. The actress' brother, Chris Cattrall, has died at 55 years old. The sad news was confirmed hours after Kim shared that Chris — who lived in Alberta, Canada — had been missing.
On February 4, Kim took to social media to ask for help in locating her brother, who was then presumed still alive. In an Instagram post that showed a photo of Chris smiling, the Sex and the City actress wrote a heartbreaking plea to fans.
"This is my brother Christopher Cattrall or Chris as we call him. He has been missing since Tuesday, January the 30th from his home in Lacombe, Alberta Canada," Kim wrote. She went on to explain that her brother's keys, cell phone, and wallet were found on his table, and that his door had been left unlocked. "This is not like Chris. He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs," Kim wrote.
She went on to provide a physical description of the man that she called "a one of a kind brother," and left a phone number that people could call if they had any leads. "Help us bring him home safe. Please spread the [word]," Kim wrote.
Unfortunately, the actress returned to social media hours later with a tragic update. "It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall," Kim wrote. "At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."
A media relations representative for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that Chris had been found dead on his rural property. The rep did not disclose the cause of Chris' death, but said that it was not suspicious.
