Kenya Moore Defends Pulling a Gun on Trespassers at Her Home
"If you come to my property, I have the right to defend myself," the #RHOA entrepreneur said on #WWHL.
Kenya Moore experienced a scary end to 2016 when three strangers trespassed on her property and knocked on her door, The Real Housewives of Atlanta entrepreneur revealed on Instagram following the incident on December 30. According to Kenya, the trio climbed over her fence when they couldn't get through her security gates. Kenya detailed the incident in an Instagram video, in which she was visibly upset and angry.
In the video, Kenya said that she is now "on high alert" and promised that she would be prosecuting the trespassers. She later posted a screenshot taken from her home's security footage of the three individuals appearing to be walking up to Moore Manor on Instagram so that her followers could help her identify them in exchange for a $1,000 reward. "It is never ok to violate anyone this way. It is not funny. Men showing up at your door is an immediate threat," Kenya captioned the post. "Things could have ended badly and all 3 will be criminally prosecuted."
Another Instagram post featured a screenshot of security footage that seemed to show the perpetrators running away as Kenya held a gun in self defense. Kenya also said she's not afraid to use the gun on anyone who comes onto her property uninvited.
Andy Cohen asked Kenya about the incident when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday (clip above). Kenya confirmed that she pulled a gun on the individuals (it's legal to store a firearm in your home, car, or place of business in the state of Georgia) on WWHL. And yes, it was loaded. No wonder Kenya said that the strangers ran away immediately.
Kenya also had a message to all those who thought she overreacted. "I have a gated property. They went around my gate, went and trespassed. They did so many things that were asking for it, not only to be shot but an ass whooping. They're just lucky they didn't get both," she said on WWHL. "If you come to my property, I have the right to defend myself. What if I had children? What if I'm protecting my family?"
