Kenya Moore Shares a Post-Pregnancy Update: "It Will Take Weeks For Me to Walk"
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and new mom reveals how she's doing days after welcoming her first child.
Kenya Moore is trying to get back to her normal routine less than a week after giving birth to her first child, daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly. But the fact of the matter is, she is still recovering from labor after undergoing a C-section and delivering her baby girl early. Still, the new mama attempted to run an errand this week — and in the process revealed a bit more about how difficult her labor was.
Sharing a video of herself out and about in a motorized cart, Kenya opened up about the "#realVsReality" of what her recovery looks like. "Brooklyn Daly came early and the reality is it will take weeks for me to be able to walk without the excruciating pain of a C section and to heal from the multiple cuts to my uterus," she revealed. "Needed to get her some preemie items so of course, off to [Target] we went. My aunt Lisa is so afraid! I'm supposed to be in bed."
Husband Marc Daly was right by her side during the delivery in which she "lost a lot of blood" and afterward left her "very weak." Prior to the birth, Kenya revealed she had been diagnosed with possible preeclampsia, which is why she welcomed her baby early.
And Kenya has definitely been feeling the love from her circle of friends since welcoming little Brooklyn into the world. The Real Housewives of Atlanta pal Kandi Burruss sent her flowers and spoke to The Daily Dish about how excited she is for this chapter for Kenya to begin.
"I feel like Kenya's gonna be an amazing mother. She loves kids — that's all she ever talked about up until this point. So now she has a new baby girl to just love on all day, use all her Kenya Moore haircare [products on], 'cause this baby has a lot of hair," Kandi shared. "And she's in a great place. [She and Marc] are truly in love. I actually hang with them outside of the show, no cameras around. This has nothing to do with TV — she's happy and I'm happy to see it."
