Kelly Dodd's Home Is Up for Sale and She's Revealing Its Best-Kept Secret
Could the #RHOC newbie's next home be inspired by Vicki Gunvalson's abode?
Each cast member of The Real Housewives of Orange County has a gorgeous home, so you know that it's not easy to impress these ladies when it comes to interior design. However, newbie Kelly Dodd's abode made their jaws drop when she invited the RHOC ladies in after their beach party earlier this season.
Well, everyone better enjoy Kelly's funky-chic crib while it lasts, because the RHOC newbie has listed the 4,428-square foot home on the market for $6.25 million, Nicole Contreras of Nourmand & Associates recently told PEOPLE. Kelly also revealed to PEOPLE that she had bought the property with the intention of "selling it eventually" and was inspired by her daughter Jolie's desire to have a real backyard. “My daughter is begging us to have a house with a pool and a trampoline,” Kelly told PEOPLE. “She really likes Vicki Gunvalson’s pool.”
Kelly added, “I want her to have a good childhood. So if she’s not happy here, it’s time for us to move.”
Kelly's four-story, 4,428-square foot Corona del Mar home, as seen on this season of RHOC.
However, Kelly's Corona del Mar crib is certainly nothing to scoff at. She tore the house "down to the studs" and spent about $1 million on its remodel, which she spearheaded herself after firing her interior designer, to make it "top, top quality," she said.
You can get an in-depth look at the stunning results of Kelly's remodel over at PEOPLE, which features crisp, white interiors with gold accents, an elegant dining room set and chandelier fit for a palace, kitschy, furry black kitchen stools, two master bedroom suites, and "$80,000 flooring." Each floor of the house (there are four) includes a bar, and you can basically see ocean views from every room in the house.
With all of that fabulousness, we think it'd be difficult for Kelly to choose a room as her absolute favorite in the house, but there is one that has a special place in Kelly's heart. "My favorite room probably would be my closet. My closet, it doesn't do justice on camera. It looks bigger in real life," she told The Daily Dish earlier this summer. "My dream was to have a washer and dryer in my closet, put that in there with the folding table, built-in hampers, and LED lights everywhere, so it kind of looks like a boutique."
With a velvet tufted borne sofa, chandelier, bar, and deck also in the space, according to PEOPLE, Kelly definitely isn't kidding about that. Believe it or not, there's an even more amazing part of Kelly's house that we haven't seen on RHOC yet. "The best-kept secret about my house I don't think has been shown on TV is the room on the first floor. I have pocket doors that open straight up, and you can walk right to the beach from there, and it's, like, white couches with mirrors everywhere," Kelly told The Daily Dish. "It's, like, an Xbox room. It's got two refrigerators. It's really a game room-play room, and it leads right out to the beach... It's a great place to hang out."
Now that Kelly's house is on the market, she told PEOPLE that she's thinking of either buying an empty lot or tearing down an existing home and building from the ground up as she plans her next home with her husband Michael Dodd, daughter Jolie, and mom Bobbi. She also said she's eager to try her hand at remodeling again. “The whole thing was so much fun for me, I kind of want to do it again,” she told PEOPLE.
Of course, Kelly's home hasn't been drama-free this season of RHOC. Relive Vicki and Shannon Beador's sit-down from earlier this season, below.
