Kathy Wakile Shares Update on Daughter's Health
Victoria is "fully recovered" after revealing a second brain surgery this year.
Back in April, Kathy Wakile revealed that her 20-year-old daughter Victoria had undergone brain surgery to remove a benign brain tumor. This is the second time in ten years that she has had to undergo the same harrowing procedure.
But how has she been coping in recent months? Now Kathy reveals that Victoria has made a full recovery. "We feel so incredibly blessed," she tells The Dish exclusively. "Victoria is feeling wonderful and strong. We were very fortunate to have the finest neurosurgeon, Dr. Neil Feldstein, perform her surgery as he did 10 years ago along with the excellent medical staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital."
Kathy also gratefully acknowledges all the well wishes she has received over the past few months. "We are also so grateful for the amount of love and support we received from our family, friends and the wonderful Bravo viewers," she says.
In April, Victoria opened up to OK! Magazine about her feelings when her tumor returned. "I was nervous—why did it happen again?" she confessed. "Now, each day I get more stamina," she then revealed about her recovery.
In relation to Victoria's condition, Kathy and her family have long been involved in raising brain tumor awareness. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star's Goddess Eye jewelry line gives a portion of its proceeds to the National Brain Tumor Society and the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation. In honor of her daughter's recovery, she has also helped raise almost $500K for brain tumor research.
