Kandi Burruss Has a Huge Update on Her Baby Plans

Is The Real Housewives of Atlanta mogul's family about to get bigger?

Cynthia Bailey and Kandi Burruss Have Some Parenting Advice for Porsha Williams

As we know, Kandi Burruss went into Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta considering the idea of expanding her family. She and husband Todd Tucker decided that if they were to do it, they would consider surrogacy. Then, when Kandi appeared on WWHL last month, she teased, "I don't want to tell too much, but we have moved forward and God willing... "

During the reunion, the singer offered an update on the current status of those plans, confirming that she and Todd were transferring the remaining embryos (both girls) from her IVF process to their surrogate.

In the past, Kandi struggled with fertility issues and fibroids (clip below). She has given birth twice before: to her teen daughter, Riley, as well as her son with Todd, Ace, who was born in 2016. Todd also has a daughter, Kaela, from a previous relationship. But Kandi knew it would be too complicated for her to try and get pregnant again.

"For me, it was like, clearly I have not been getting pregnant... it's just not happening," she told The Daily Dish earlier this season. "Luckily, it was a blessing we was able to get Ace through IVF, but in the process of doing IVF, we still have two more embryos. And with that being said, as soon as we had Ace, we knew that we would want to possibly use our other embryos, but I had a high-risk pregnancy last time, so that's why we decided we would consider surrogacy."

In the process of trying to decide if a surrogate would ultimately be the right choice for her, she asked Andy Cohen for advice, who welcomed a son via surrogate back in February. “I don’t want to get teary-eyed about it. I said, ‘Well I guess I’m going to have a baby momma.’ And he said, ‘Don’t you ever say that, because you are that baby’s mother and if you say that, you are taking away from yourself,'" she shared during the reunion, holding back tears.

Kandi revealed a similar sentiment regarding her reservations about having a surrogate carry her child to The Daily Dish: "Todd and I are both nervous about it. I think it's easier for Todd to handle or deal with because as a man he's used to somebody else carrying the baby. But for me it's a little bit harder for me to deal with the thought because I'm supposed to carry my own kids in my mind. But, hey, with science, it's made other options to be able to make it happen."

The update comes as Kandi and Todd jetted off to Thailand to celebrate their five-year wedding anniversary. Kandi described the trip as "everything." And, we have to say, based on those photos they shared we can't help but agree.
