Kandi Burruss Calls Out Phaedra Parks' "Shady" Behavior in Helping Her Former Employee
The #RHOA music mogul responds to her onetime assistant's major accusations.
Kandi Burruss' former assistant, Johnnie Winston, returned to The Real Housewives of Atlanta with another eyebrow-raising accusation. As Johnnie met with a lawyer to discuss the possibility of making a case against his former employer, not only did he imply that the concept for Kandi's new restaurant, Old Lady Gang, was his, but he also said that he came up with the idea for her musical, A Mother's Love.
Kandi responded to Johnnie's claim on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Sunday night. The RHOA music mogul's facial expressions pretty much say it all, but her words show that she was none too pleased, too. "A Mother's Love is about my family. You guys showed it on the show. It was about my mom, my sister, a musical about them. The songs are related to the show. You guys saw it on TV," Kandi told Andy Cohen. "So did he make up my life, too?"
Perhaps the worst part of it all for Kandi was that she had no idea Phaedra Parks sat in on this meeting between Johnnie and his potential attorney until she watched this episode of RHOA just like the rest of us. "So much has been going on that I found out later, and it's so crazy. I don't want to give up anything, but you guys will see. I ask her about it, and she denied really having anything to do with Johnnie's lawsuit," Kandi said. "And I'm watching this show, and I see her at the law office with him with her friend. I was like, that girl is so shady. Like, so shady."
Phaedra previously explained in her Bravotv.com blog why she initially decided to listen to Johnnie's issues with Kandi. "After practicing law for eighteen years, no stories shock or amaze me," she wrote. "When anyone seeks my advice in my professional capacity as an attorney, I always try to provide assistance."
