Turns Out Kandi Burruss' Daughter, Riley, Has Some Similar Aspirations to Gia Guidice

We've basically watched Riley Burruss grow up right before our eyes on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and before you know it, she'll be embarking on her next big chapter: college. And Kandi Burruss' daughter is already thinking about her future — and her plans resemble that of another Real Housewives kid, Teresa Giudice's teen offspring, Gia Guidice.

"Riley is talking to me about her college ideas and choices that she's thinking about right now. She's only in the 10th grade, but it's the time she's supposed to start thinking about those things," Kandi recently told The Daily Dish, noting that law seems to be in Riley's master plan. "So we've been talking [about] college a lot and what car she's getting for her 16th birthday and stuff like that."

In fact, law has always been top of mind for Kandi when it comes to a career path for Riley. "To be an attorney, I really always wanted that for her," she said. "When I tell you, everybody sees shy Riley on TV but Riley at home, she will debate you and argue you down. She's one of those people who has to win every discussion and she comes with facts and back to back to back until you're like 'OK, Riley.' She's one of those people. So I always told her, 'You need to be a lawyer.' She's a master negotiator and now she's finally saying herself that she wants to be a lawyer. So I'm hoping that that stays the case. She's gonna go to Stanford [University] for a week this summer for a little program they're having for high schoolers who are thinking about law. So she will be there for a week. So I hope she enjoys it and so we can keep pushing her in that direction."

And, Kandi is certain she has the skills to make it in that field: "Well, she's a strong, intelligent, young woman."

Until then, that big Sweet 16 is on the horizon this summer and the teen is also making some big plans for that landmark occasion. "She sent all kinds of pictures of [cars] that she wants, but we don't know yet," Kandi said. "I don't know, it depends on how things go for the rest of the school year. She's been stepping her game up, so it might be good. We'll see."

As for other happenings in Riley's life, Kandi also offered an update on the current status of her relationship with her dad, Russell "Block" Spencer, following some attempts to reconcile their relationship last season. "They haven't advanced much and I would just say it's Riley's doing at this point," her mom said. "He has been reaching out and trying to talk to her, but she's built up this wall and it's gonna be hard figuring out how to get through it."
