Jenna MacGillivray Is Officially Married
The former Below Deck Sailing Yacht chief stew tied the knot with Dave Cartmill.
Jenna MacGillivray just said “I do.”
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht alum has officially tied the knot with Dave Cartmill, a fellow Canadian who proposed to Jenna nearly a year ago. The ex-yachtie shared a peek inside her wedding via Instagram on Saturday, August 5, less than 24 hours after walking down the aisle.
A Look Inside Jenna and Dave’s Canadian Wedding
The carousel showed the newlyweds kissing and embracing each other against a floral ring backdrop. The former Below Deck chief stew donned a charming sleeveless gown with a V neckline, subtle ruching under the bust, and a court-length train. She finished the look with a pair of drop earrings and a long veil attached to her chic low bun.
As indicated on her Instagram, Jenna’s nuptials took place at the Thomson Farms Cider & Winery in Ontario. The couple’s wedding reception was held in the venue’s wine barn, which was decorated with candles, string lights, and pastel flower arrangements.
Jenna also shared a couple of Instagram Stories that provided a closer look at the stunning sweetheart table. The post credited design/styling company Anthesis Supply Co. as well as the Ontario-based florist Flowers with Flair.
Jenna reflected on her big day in an August 4 Instagram, which included photos from her childhood and Below Deck days.
“Today little ol’ me is getting married,” she captioned the post. “Swipe to see little me, before I even knew there was more than playing dress up and laughing each day.”
Jenna announces her engagement
Jenna appeared in Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s inaugural season, which explored her romance with chef Adam Glick. The two ended their relationship before the Season 1 reunion special in 2020. In August 2022, Jenna announced she was engaged to Dave, whom she described as “the best person [she] could have ever imagined.”
How did Jenna and Dave meet?
In an exclusive interview with Showbiz CheatSheet, Jenna revealed she left the yachting industry and was employed as a social worker alongside Dave’s mom and sister. However, she clarified she was introduced to Dave through a mutual friend.
“I’ve kind of known about him for a number of years, but, he was doing his thing and I was doing my thing,” she said. “And it was just kismet timing, I guess. And yeah, it was very different from every other relationship I’ve ever had.”
She told the outlet they began dating in December 2021.
“I would say it was love at first sight, but it also felt very calm,” she continued. “Like I’m used to this kind of like, ‘Wow, it’s all crazy!’ And you’re running at fast speeds and all of this stuff. But it felt actually like a very healthy beginning. Like it felt just like really calm. We met and it was just like so easy and there weren’t any doubts in my mind. And he felt the same. There were no communication issues. It was just like very clear that we both felt the same way.”
