Shannon Beador's Baby Advice for Jeff Lewis Might Be a Little TMI
Ah, the joys of parenthood!
Shannon Beador and Jeff Lewis' friendship is one of our favorites among Bravolebs. We saw how much they care about one another, not to mention how much fun they have, when they appeared on each other's respective Bravo series this year, with Jeff traveling to Rancho Santa Fe, California to witness Shannon's vow renewal on The Real Housewives of Orange County, and Shannon enlisting Jeff to help her furnish her new rental home during an episode of Flipping Out.
So, of course, when Shannon heard the news that Jeff and his partner Gage Edward would be welcoming a baby girl to the family this fall, she couldn't have been happier. "I am so excited that Jeff and Gage are gonna be parents," she told The Daily Dish earlier this fall (clip above). "They're gonna do such an amazing job."
Shannon said that she is also hoping that her other Flipping Out friend Jenni Pulos finds success during her difficult pregnancy journey. "Prayers to Jenni that her IVF works because I want them all to have babies," Shannon gushed. "That'd be great."
Though Jeff and Gage have demanding jobs running Jeff Lewis Design, Shannon said that having to be away from their baby will only make them appreciate the time they have with her more. "They're gonna be great parents. I'm sure they're gonna have help because they both work. And I think that'll be nice for them, because I think they'll be able to take a break from home," Shannon said. "I am not the most patient person for the shaking the toy with the smile all day. So they'll be able to get out and do what they love and then come home and be with the baby that they love. I think it's just gonna be a perfect balance."
Jeff and Gage weren't planning on throwing a baby shower prior to the birth of their little girl, so Shannon hadn't bought them any baby gifts yet, she said. However, in addition to advising them on making the nursery feng shui-friendly and non-toxic, she has also dispensed some knowledge on what they might want to do — or rather, not do — right when the baby's born. "There's one thing, and I want to tell Meghan [King Edmonds] this, we had a baby nurse when our kids were born, and when your baby's first born, there's all the amniotic fluid on the baby's body, and she said that you want to try and keep that on as long as possible. The nurses want to immediately take it off," Shannon explained. "So when [my] twins were born, I'm like, 'David, get around there and make sure!' So he pushed for as long as he could to keep that on the kids for as long as possible to strengthen their immune systems."
But then again, nothing can really prepare you for the arrival of your little one, now can it? "[Jeff] texted me when he was here in New York last week. He said, 'I'm having Shannon withdrawal,'" she joked. "I go, 'Well, you better make some plans quick pre-baby because your whole life's gonna change!'"
