Jax Taylor Takes Plea Deal in Hawaii Sunglasses Theft Case
The #PumpRules SURver appeared in court on Wednesday.
Jax Taylor appeared in a Hawaii courtroom on Wednesday (February 17) where he accepted a plea deal in connection with the second-degree theft charge stemming from an incident in July 2015. At the time, he took a pair of sunglasses from a local store valued at more than $300. According to E! News and local reports, the Vanderpump Rules SURver was sentenced to 364 days of probation. Additionally, his record in connection with the case will be wiped clean after completing the time if he stays out of trouble. He was also fined $350, which he must pay back to the Sunglass Hut that he took the sunglasses from, as well as $105 to the crime victim compensation fund, and $1,150 in fees and fines.
He appeared in court in glasses and a suit, where he addressed the judge in the matter. "I had too many drinks, too many Mai Tais," Jax said in footage posted online. "I made a mistake, took full responsibility and I understand this is going to follow me the rest of my life due to the fact that I'm on television. So I just want to say I'm sorry and I apologize."
Following his court appearance, he flew back home to L.A.
His comments to the judge mirror those he shared with The Daily Dish earlier this year, when he opened up about the incident. "Obviously I feel absolutely horrible about it. I am human. I made a mistake. I apologized to everybody. It's cost me a lot of money and I just kind of went into the mentality where nobody can touch me," he said. "And I kind of needed to be knocked down a little bit. It was a humbling experience. So it was good. Some good came out of that, what happened in Hawaii."
Viewers got to see for themselves just what happened when Jax was arrested in Hawaii earlier this season on Vanderpump Rules.
