This Is How Teresa Giudice Supported Danielle Staub After She Split from Marty Caffrey
The RHONJ friend opened up about her "profound" friendship with the Garden State mom.
When it came time for Danielle Staub to break the news to her pals that she and Marty Caffrey would be separating after only a few months of marriage, The Real Housewives of New Jersey friend knew that it wasn't going to be easy to tell her pal Teresa Giudice. In fact, she was "anxious" about breaking the news to her.
Why? Well, as she recently explained to The Daily Dish, it's "because we are super close, not when things go wrong or anything. We're very close. So she was the first for me to break my silence."
Teresa was among the guests who watched Danielle and Marty say "I do" in the Bahamas in May. Danielle admits that she's still trying to process marrying and separating within such a short period of time. (The RHONJ pal and Marty were already having issues in their marriage by July. Divorce papers were filed in September.)
"I didn't speak to anybody. I was in shock. Part of me is still in that state, but it's not the same form of shock," she said. "I'm trying to compartmentalize it and it's not easy still 'cause it's still kind of fresh; the wedding is fresh."
But she credits her bond with Teresa for helping her to find some clarity. "I don't know how I would have done it without her, to be honest with you," she said. "There's nothing more I can [say] than that."
Danielle notes the similarities she shares with the fellow Garden State mom for helping them get closer during this period. "There's so many parallels for us," she said, noting both women are focused on "protecting our family and how do you make the right choice" when it comes to their lives. And she shared that when it came to Marty and the cracks in their relationship, "she didn't see it either."
No matter what, throughout these last few months, Teresa, who attended the wedding, has been there for Danielle. "You know when somebody's your friend when they always pick up their phone," she said. "We're both OGs. We've been around it; there's so many things in common ... It's that parallel that we have that makes her [relationship with me] so much more profound."
