How Teresa Giudice Is Helping Her Daughters Cope with Joe's Time in Prison
"We all miss Joe tremendously," the #RHONJ mom says.
It certainly hasn't been easy for Teresa Giudice to be a part from her husband Joe while he serves his 41-month prison sentence for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud at the Federal Correction Institute in Fort Dix, New Jersey. However, their four daughters — Gia, 15, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 10, and Audriana, 6 — have been keeping The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom busy and helping her get back into the swing of things after she completed her 11-month prison term at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut on December 23, 2015.
Still, raising their daughters alone has definitely presented its challenges for Teresa, who wakes up early to make them breakfast before driving them to gymnastics, cheerleading, and soccer. "I can't wait for Joe to get home," she said in an interview in this week's issue of PEOPLE. "He needs to help me."
Luckily, Teresa and Joe have been able to keep in touch "a million times a day" via email. The Giudice girls have also gotten used to the visitation process. "I'm not going to say it's easier, but the girls went though it with me already," Teresa explained. "We get in and out. They've got it down pat."
Teresa is doing everything she can to help her daughters stay positive and strong while they wait for their father to return home. "We all miss Joe tremendously," she said. "But I try to remind them, 'Now that mommy is home, didn't it go by fast? That's how it's going to be for daddy too.'"
