Gretchen Rossi & Lizzie Rovsek "Giggle a Lot" While Designing Their Swimsuit Collection
The #RHOC alum opens up about working with the swimwear designer on their collection.
With summer rapidly approaching, you probably need to refresh your swimsuit collection. Lucky for you, Gretchen Rossi and Lizzie Rovsek have your back. The Real Housewives of Orange County pals recently collaborated on the Gretchen Christine for SunKitten Swimwear collection, which officially made its debut last weekend during Scottsdale Fashion Week. The idea to combine their brands came after several years of friendship. "We met on the red carpet and had a really fun time together and really connected and hit it off. We remained friends for the last couple years," Gretchen told The Daily Dish. And so they decided to take their love of each other and fashion to the streets with this line.
"At the beginning of this year we started talking about collaborating and doing something together," Gretchen explained. "When Lizzie and I started talking, we decided it would be a perfect match because we have the same kind of style and we work well together and we're definitely girly girls. We like sexy, functional type looks. That's how it all happened. It was a little bit of a mix between Lizzie's current SunKitten collection, as well as some of the Gretchen Christine for SunKitten Swimwear pieces. And we actually are going to start working on 2017 right now. And we're going to be showing at Swim [Fashion Week] which is coming up in Miami in July. We're going to be showing the whole 2017 collection, which we're super excited about as well."
And, as you might imagine, when these two OC ladies get together to dream up designs, a good time is definitely had by all. "We definitely giggle a lot and we have so much fun," Gretchen said. "Listen, we're both boss babes so we work really hard and we do our thing and then when it's time to play and enjoy the success of how hard we worked we can definitely do that, too." We imagine the photo below proves just that.
