The 2016 Grammy Awards are nearly two months away, and some of the biggest artists of the year just got one step closer to nabbing some hardware at the annual event. Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, and Justin Bieber all received nods for next year's show, slated to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 15, 2016.
The Album of the Year category has some stiff competition with The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness facing off against Taylor Swift's1989 as well as Alabama Shakes' Sound & Color, Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, and Chris Stapleton's Traveller.
And while Taylor and The Weeknd are up in some of the biggest awards of the night, including Album and Record of the Year, Kendrick is the most nominated artist with 11 nominations. Taylor and The Weeknd are tied for second with 7 nods a piece.
Elsewhere, Miguel is up for Best Urban Contemporary Album for his release Wildheart and Justin Bieber's comeback year has been capped with a nomination in the Best Dance Recording category for his collaboration with Diplo and Skrillex ("Where Are you Now"). But the accolades don't end there. Bravo superfan Lady Gaga is nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category for "Till It Happens To You."
