Why You Won't See New O.C. Housewife Gina Kirschenheiter's Husband in Season 13

One of the best parts about meeting new Housewives is definitely meeting their significant others. Though we'll get to meet The Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Gina Kirschenheiter and her beautiful family in the new season, we won't see her husband, Matthew Kirschenheiter, on the show. 

Gina filed for divorce from Matthew on April 2, citing irreconcilable differences. However, that's not the reason why her husband won't be appearing on RHOC this season, Gina explained during a recent interview with Newsday. “His employer did not want him to,” she said. “It wasn’t a decision having anything to do with our relationship. Pure timing.”

Gina previously opened up to Us Weekly about the reason for the breakup earlier this month. “After careful consideration and deep thought, we have decided to end our legal marriage. With that said, we will never end our friendship and will forever remain family,” she said in a statement. “We are dedicated to raising our children together in a happy, healthy loving environment. We will be navigating this difficult process with respect and grace for one another. We kindly ask for others to treat us with this same respect and grace [as] we move through this family adjustment."

The RHOC newcomer also told Newsday that her and her husband's commitment to their family remains as strong as ever during this difficult time. “We’ve always been really good friends and realized we’re better as friends than as a married couple,” she shared. “We’re trying to be the most amazing parents still to our children. We’re always going to be a family, doing things as a family.”
