Gigi Hadid Opens Up About Siblings Bella and Anwar's Struggles with Lyme Disease

Gigi Hadid is not only a master when it comes to strutting on a catwalk, but The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills daughter is also an ace in the kitchen. Gigi competed against fellow model Devon Windsor on MasterChef Celebrity Showdown Monday, for a chance to win $25,000 for her charity of choice: the Global Lyme Alliance for Lyme Disease. It's an organization her mother Yolanda Foster has worked with, and during the episode, Gigi addressed her family's own struggle with the disease.  "Not enough people know what Lyme disease is and they dangers of being bitten by an insect,” Gigi said, according to Entertainment Tonight. “For that on its own is amazing but with [the cash prize of] $25,000, we can help with finding a cure. It can help so much.” Yolanda, as well as Gigi's younger sister Bella and younger brother Anwar all battle Lyme disease. "I'm the only one in, of my siblings, my mom and my family that hasn't been affected by Lyme disease," she told Entertainment Tonight. "It's been really hard for me because I'm the only one that doesn't really understand it. What's been hardest for me is just trying to find a way to be their hope and kind of be a strength for them even with the disease that I can't understand fully because I haven't been through it."

During the episode, it was Gigi's burger that beat out Devon's squid ink spaghetti with grilled shrimp with parmesan crostini, according to the New York Daily News. So how did Gigi prepare the burger that MasterChef host Gordon Ramsay declared "f***ing delicious"? With some help from pickled jalapenos and crispy onions. She later dedicated her winnings to "all the Lymies out there."

Of course, her #proudmommy Yolanda gushed about the model's win on Twitter, as did her sister.

The Global Lyme Alliance later took to Twitter to congratulate Gigi on her big win.
