After Alli Dore put her boatmance with Gary on pause when she found out that he and Sydney Zaruba had hooked up early on in the charter season, the first mate resumed his flirting with the deckhand in front of the whole crew during their night out in the May 31 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Gary looked back on the events of the night in a post on Instagram in advance of the episode airing on May 31 in which he expressed regret over his behavior and apologized to Alli. "Tonight’s episode of #belowdecksailing is not one of my proudest moments. I must admit that what I was doing was wrong and I realised it. No women should ever be treated like that, I’m glad we’ve worked through it. I’d like to apologise to [Alli] for my actions," Gary wrote. "All I can say is that we learn from our mistakes and I have first hand, I know that it might not mean much but it wasn’t my intentions. I also hope I have not embarrassed my mother."

The yachtie added "#whatwereyouthinkinggary" in his post, as well as "#listentocolin" and "#anengineerswordsofwisdom," referring to Colin MacRae advising him in the episode to not hook up with Sydney again if he still had feelings for Alli.

Alli previously opened up about Gary during her "Pita Party" Instagram chat with Daisy Kelliher, Dani Soares, and Below Deck Sailing Yacht alum Paget Berry on May 25. She explained why she felt like it would be best for her and Gary to not continue their romance while they were working in the same crew with Sydney this charter season. "We really liked each other. That was something that was not easy for me. I felt sick doing it, and obviously, Daisy, I spoke to you a lot about it before. I just wanted to get it the hell over with," Alli said. "I felt like I had no choice. I couldn't continue to act on something I didn't feel was right. I didn't want to be hurting another person. But I didn't actually expect him to get as upset as he did get upset."

The stew also noted how uncomfortable it was to continue to work with Gary aboard the Parsifal III during this time. "That was the hardest thing in the world was having to wake up the next day and work together. We're not working in the same department, but I'm seeing him," she said. "Every time he walked [past me], I was like, this sucks. This is so awkward. It was not fun. Definitely not fun."

The aftermath of Alli and Gary's chat continues in the next episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht with one of the most intense moments of the season. Check out a sneak peek, below.
