Fredrik Eklund Rules New York City Once Again
Find out all about the #MDLNY agent's latest career achievement.
Fredrik Eklund has a good reason to celebrate: He just landed at the top of the Real Deal's annual ranking agents in NYC for the second year in a row.
The high-kicking Million Dollar Listing New York agent, along with his partner John Gomes at Douglas Elliman, are No. 1 again thanks to a whopping $542 million in listings this past year, up nearly $7 million from last year.
According to the Real Deal, the 75 agents who made the cut were decided "based on listings culled from the listings portal On-Line Residential on May 31 — includes exclusives and properties that went into contract on or after January 1." Ryan Serhant also made the list, shooting up to No. 12 from No. 36 last year, thanks to $246.7 million in listing sales. This is the latest accolade for the MDLNY guys; both recently nabbed spots on the Wall Street Journal Real Trends' annual rankings list.
After the Real Deal news went public, Fredrik waxed sentimental about his No. 1 status on Instagram. "Today the real estate bible of New York, The Real Deal, released their annual ranking of the city's top agents. My business partner John and I made number one again - out of 30,000 real estate professionals," he wrote. "It's so rare that one name reaches the very top of the list two years in a row. Why? Because there're some many incredibly talented people in this town going to work everyday and selling the most expensive real estate on the planet. With $1.1 billion in sales last year, and listings/contracts signed worth $542 million right now, we made number one again, and I couldn't be more proud."
Of course, Fredrik also thanked the other guy in his life: his husband (and fellow soon-to-be dad), Derek, as well as a few other important folks and animals. "Thank you to my husband Derek, my family, Mousey gone but not forgotten, crazy Fritzy, little Milla coming, Douglas Elliman, my team and all of you following me here," he added. "Your support really counts, and I mean that from the very bottom of my heart."
