Exclusive: Lisa Hochstein Dishes About "Miracle Baby"
"I've never felt a love like this. It's amazing," the #RHOM star says of her newborn son, Logan.
In case you missed it, Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein is officially a mom. Lisa and husband Lenny welcomed a son, Logan, into the Hochstein family on July 3 via surrogate.
The baby's arrival came after years of struggling to conceive. And while the journey to motherhood was long, the baby's actual arrival came a little sooner than expected, a whole month early in fact. Which means that Lisa had to scramble once she got word of Logan's impending birth.
"I got a phone call from the surrogate... She was going into contractions. And, of course, I started flipping out because it was so early," she recalled to the Daily Dish. "He wasn't supposed to be due until August 1. So I was trying to pack a bag, trying to pack his bag. My hair was soaking wet. [I was] trying to book a flight because I had to fly to another city within Florida. And everything just worked out so great, even though it was super stressful getting there."
"I didn't have time to think about," she further recalled of the day Logan was born. "I just had to do it. I've never gone to the airport without makeup or my hair done. I ran to the airport with my hair soaking wet. I was crying like a crazy person."
However once she landed, and met Logan, everything changed. "I spent the whole entire night holding him on my chest; it was beautiful," she said. "I'm completely obsessed and in love."
There was a special reason why Lisa and Lenny settled on the name Logan for their newborn. "Well, we wanted to stick with an 'L' name ... We wanted to have everyone with the same initials," she explained. "So I named him his middle name Marc because that is Lenny's middle name and it's an 'M,' and my middle name is Marie, so all of our initials are 'LMH'."
Becoming a mother definitely has a special meaning for Lisa, who had previously experienced three miscarriages and four failed IVF attempts. "Other mothers might disagree with me that my feeling is no more special than their feeling, but for me I just feel like, wow, we've just been through so much on the show. And all of these fans and supporters [were] with me throughout my journey, and now this and to see the outpouring, it's amazing. It's truly a miracle. He's a miracle baby."
Lenny is also enjoying his role of dad. "He's great. There's like always a constant huge smile on his face. He can't wait to get home and see his little guy," she said. "He likes to think that he looks just like him and I'm kind of arguing with him saying 'Nope, he looks like me.' I mean, we're both so in love ... I've never felt a love like this. It's amazing."
And while she hasn't been shy to share photos of her son, she isn't quite ready for visitors just yet — and that includes her fellow Miami Housewives. "I've heard from Alexia, Marysol, Adriana and Lea," she shared. "All have called or texted me to congratulate me. Well, Lea's in L.A. so she won't get over to see Logan until she gets back. Alexia and Marysol are going to be visiting soon, probably next week. I'm not really accepting visitors this week. I'm trying to get accustomed to my new life myself before I have anyone else see him."
