Melissa Gorga Was "Devastated" After Parting Ways with Former Envy Business Partner, Cried for Three Days Straight
But has the #RHONJ boutique owner spoken to her former partner since the two parted ways earlier this year?
Back in January, Melissa Gorga and her then-business partner, Jackie Beard Robinson, had a falling out. Things hit a bump for the one-time associates, who worked together on Melissa's Montclair, NJ boutique, Envy, after a "difference of opinion on how the store should be run," Melissa said in a statement at the time. The events caused the The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom and business owner to temporarily shut the boutique down — and, she now says, it was a dark time for her.
"I was devastated when I parted with my business partner. I was pretty blindsided," Melissa told The Daily Dish. "I woke up one morning and it was completely emptied — and I'm talking about there wasn't even a hanger or a roll of tape left in Envy. So I laid on my couch and I cried for three days straight."
With a little help from her friends, she found a new way to look at the situation. "And one of my best friends and my husband came and literally pulled me off the couch and said 'You're gonna reopen the store. You got to get to New York. You got to go do new buying right now and get what you got to do.'"
Within weeks, Melissa was back in business — and her friends turned up to show their support at the boutique's reopening (more on that in the video above). And Melissa admits that she and Jackie haven't spoken since everything happened. "So I decided not to fight that battle," Melissa said. "She left and I took it as a blessing in disguise — and we've never spoken again."
