Did Andy Cohen Pressure Bethenny to Get Married?
The #WWHL host addresses whether he really had anything to do with the #RHONY star walking down the aisle.
Andy Cohen has weighed in on Bethenny Frankel’s recent quip that her marriage to now-ex Jason Hoppy was “all his fault.”
Earlier this month Bethenny revealed that friends and family influenced her decision to marry Jason, despite her not feeling that it was 100 percent right. In fact, there was one person in particular who she says really contributed to her failed marriage. "It’s all Andy Cohen’s fault, he will admit it,” she said jokingly. We brought the subject to the Watch What Happens Live host and producer of all things Housewives to get his take. “No, I think they were really in love is the truth,” he said. “And I felt their love, and I hung out with them together several times, a few times... Look, she loved him, but, I don’t know, I think some people question themselves a lot and they just seemed to love each other and I was like, ‘Do it, do it!’” While not accepting responsibilty, Andy reiterated his close relationship with Bethenny and her strong nature. "But, by the way, she’s a smart person. Listen, we’re friends, we’re not like that!” he continued. “So, I don’t have that kind of pull over her. Trust me, no one can tell her what to do.”
Bethenny's divorce has been well-documented throughout this season of the Real Housewives of New York, and the star has been been very open about her experience being single again in her 40s. Andy echoed that relationships are indeed hard work, which is why he’s still single. “It’s so hard being in a couple,” he said. “That’s why I’m just in a couple with my f--king dog.”
