Caroline Stanbury Says She and Sophie Stanbury Are Still "Broken"
"I didn't see that coming at all," the #LadiesOfLondon mom said of the drama with her sister-in-law.
We saw a good-old-fashioned Stanbury sister showdown in Tuesday night's episode of Ladies of London, after Caroline Stanbury found out that her sister-in-law, Sophie Stanbury, had been sharing their conversations with Julie Montagu. The Stanbury sisters' attempt at making amends in Tuesday night's episode only led to Caroline realizing that she couldn't trust Sophie.
Caroline updated Ladies of London fans on the situation with her sister-in-law during Tuesday night's Watch What Happens Live. She told Andy Cohen that things with Sophie are still "not good" today. "The Stanbury sisters are broken," she revealed.
The Ladies of London mom went on to say that she never expected her relationship with Sophie to take this turn. "It was a shock to me because of all the people, I didn't see that coming at all," she explained. "I think when you fight with other girls on the show, you don't really care. I never, ever saw that coming, and I wouldn't have gone there, and she did."
Caroline later clarified her comments during an interview with The Daily Dish, saying that her issues with Sophie have nothing to do with the fact that she is divorcing her brother, Alex Stanbury. "It was a completely separate issue. As I said very clearly in Episode 1, the divorce would never affect my relationship with Sophie. She was ultimately my family. What has affected my relationship with Sophie, and I'd like to make that clear, and I thought I had on Watch What Happens [Live], but I've actually realized that it didn't come across that way, is her repeating my conversations to the exact people I'm talking about. That is what has affected my relationship with Sophie, nothing more."
Sophie explained on Twitter that she was trying to protect Caroline by talking to Julie this season of Ladies of London. "I got stuck in the middle of two people who don't like each other and it was a nightmare," she tweeted Tuesday.
In another tweet, Sophie wrote, "it was a tough situation and awful to be in - it has taught me a lot."
Sophie confirmed that she is still in a tough spot with Caroline these days. "We are on a journey and are still navigating our way through ... things are still strained," she tweeted.
As far as the future of their relationship goes, Caroline said she doesn't know if there's a resolution in sight. "I don't want to stay in this complete place, but am I in a giant hurry? Not really. I don't know how you get that trust back," Caroline shared with The Daily Dish. "You'll see coming up, actions speak louder than words. You can say you're sorry, 'I didn't mean to do it,' but if you're gonna do it again and again, you keep throwing me under the bus."
