Camille Grammer Remembers Frasier's John Mahoney with a Touching Tweet
The beloved actor passed away on February 4.
Camille Grammer is heartbroken. On Monday, February 5, news spread that beloved actor John Mahoney had passed away at the age of 77. Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where Mahoney was a longtime ensemble member, shared that the actor had died on February 4. At the time, Mahoney had been in hospice care "due to complications from cancer."
Along with being a renowned stage actor, Mahoney appeared in several film and television roles. He had memorable roles in the 1989 film Say Anything and in the 1987 rom-com Moonstruck. But, Mahoney was perhaps best known for his role as "Martin Crane," otherwise known as "Frasier's dad," on the hit show Frasier.
Mahoney appeared in the series — which, of course, starred Camille's ex-husband Kelsey Grammer — from 1993 to 2001. In a tweet that linked back to news of Mahoney's passing, Camille wrote: "I'm heartbroken by this news. John was a wonderful and talented man."
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom also shared a photo from the set of Frasier.
Camille retweeted condolences from Team Giudice, Teresa Giudice's fan page.
Frasier casting director Jeff Greenberg also saluted the late actor on Twitter, calling Mahoney an exceptionally kind man and a brilliant actor.
Mahoney's fellow Chicagoan and Say Anything co-star, John Cusack, tweeted a response to a fan's sentiment that Mahoney seemed "like a good guy."
Mahoney was, Cusack wrote, "the best."
