Brooks Ayers Recounts His Break-up with Vicki Gunvalson: "The Piano Was Lifted Off My Back"
The #RHOC ex-boyfriend opens up about his split from the OC's OG.
In addition to sitting down with Andy Cohen during the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion, Brooks Ayers is opening up about his August split from OC OG, Vicki Gunvalson, in a new interview with E! News. Brooks, who has been at the center of allegations from the RHOC women about his cancer diagnosis during much of Season 10, is reflecting on the conversation he had with Vicki, who had been dating for four years, around the time of their split.
"I said, 'Listen, we need some third-party help. I'm not gonna be influenced by you,'" he told E! News. "So we began seeing, of all things, a reality TV couples counselor. We made the decision that we probably weren't going to be for forever, and when I made that statement mid-July in the counseling session, it was like…the piano was lifted off my back."
While Meghan King Edmonds has led the charge in digging into Brooks' medical history, Vicki's daughter, Briana Culberson, hasn't been shy in her criticism of Brooks, which he also addresses in his E! sit-down. "Vicki and I dated a year prior to Briana ever meeting me," he said. "She never gave me a chance. And one thing led to another and the first time I met Briana was the very night that she told her mom that she was married."
The RHOC reunion kicks off Monday, October 19 at 9/8c.
