Ben Stiller on Ryan Serhant's Acting Chops: "He Was Hilarious"
The #Zoolander2 star dishes on working with the #MDLNY agent in the 2015 film While We're Young.
Ryan Serhant didn't just woo the critics when he appeared in the 2015 Noah Baumbach film, While We Were Young. The Million Dollar Listing New York agent also impressed his co-star, Ben Stiller. As fans might recall, Ryan played a hedge fund manager in the film, who shared screen time with Ben's middle-aged Brooklynite in the midst of a mid-life crisis. When Ben appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, he opened up about working with the actor/real estate agent.
"Noah [Baumbach] was the one who discovered Ryan as a film actor," Ben told Andy Cohen. "He was looking for a guy who sort of had this slick sensibility and a good sense of humor and I thought he was hilarious in the movie and he was fun to work with."
At the time of the film's release last year, Ryan had equally kind things to say about his co-star and the film's director. “It was a pretty incredible experience,” he told The Wrap last spring. “For my first movie, being directed by Noah Baumbach personally, in a movie that’s produced by Scott Rudin, and acting alongside people like Ben Stiller, who I grew up watching and idolizing, it took me a while when I first started to not freak out."
Looks like everyone is fanboying over each other. Now when can we expect a sequel?
Below, Ben opens up about his latest film release, Zoolander 2, in theaters now.
