9 Things You Didn't Know About Harry Hamlin
Get to know the #RHOBH hubby and Lisa Rinna's love a little better.
We may still not ever know what Harry Hamlin did, but we have an idea of some of the interesting things he's done in his colorful life and illustrious career. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills husband rose up the Hollywood ranks beginning in the 1970s and hasn't looked back since. And while we've seen him pop up alongside Lisa Rinna on RHOBH, viewers might be wondering what else there is to know about the Househusband and longtime heartthrob. Below, we've provided a few tidbits that you probably didn't know about Harry Hamlin.
1. He's a Smarty Pants
Before stardom, Harry was a bit of an academic putting in the work in school. After attending UC Berkeley, he graduated from Yale in 1974. In addition to getting a degree in Drama, he also studied Psychology. He later attended the American Conservatory Theatre's Advanced Actor Training Program where he got his Master of Fine Arts degree in acting.
2. He's a Gay Icon

Well at least he is according to Lisa, and she's kind of not wrong. He broke ground by starring in the first studio movie to include a gay love scene in 1982's Making Love.
"It was way before it's time," he shared on WWHL in 2014. "It was something that I would repeat. I would do it again today, even though there was a ruffle in my career after that, for sure. What it did is it created a transition for me between feature film to television."
3. He Has a Funny Side

A majority of Harry's roles have veered into more serious territory, but the former L.A. Law star does have a funny bone he likes to flex every once in a while, like when he played former Speaker of the House John Boehner in a Funny or Die video. Check it out, below.
4. He Can Sing
During the era when charity singles were produced on the regular, Harry appeared on the 1991 release "Voices That Care," which coincidentally was written by Yolanda Hadid's ex, David Foster with David's then-wife, Linda Thompson and Chicago vocalist/bassist Peter Cetera. The song was released in support of U.S. troops who were stationed in the Middle East and involved at that time in Operation Desert Storm. It also featured '90s superstars Michael Bolton, Garth Brooks, Celine Dion, and Bobby Brown, among other A-listers. Harry appears in the video at around the 4:05 mark.

In 2010, Harry released his memoir, Full Frontal Nudity, which took a closer look at his life before he became a household name, including how he originally intended to become an architect, how he recovered from a head-on car collision, and his bad-boy college days.
8. He's Very Environmentally and Socially Aware
In addition to teaming up with Lisa to spread the message about the I Am Waters Foundation, which provides clean water to the homeless, he's also an advocate for Fusion energy. He invested in Tri-Alpha Energy, Inc., a company based in California that develops aneutronic fusion power.
9. Yes, He's on Social Media

Unlike his very social media savvy wife, Harry hasn't tweeted a single thing since October 4, 2015, but at least that last tweet packs a punch that Lisa Vanderpump would approve of.
