Patricia Altschul Found a $4,695 Designer Bag That's Perfect for Dog Lovers
Dubbed the "Barkin," the Dolce & Gabbana handbag goes so well with the Southern Charm matriarch's pet-themed caftans.
When Southern Charm's Patricia Altschul shops for bags, she's often looking for an investment piece. (Catch up on Southern Charm here.) Take the bubble gum pink alligator Hermès Birkin bag Patricia blogged about back in 2015. "I have never worn nor carried it anywhere," Patricia said of her pink Birkin at the time. "In fact, it sits, unsullied and pristine, in its original box waiting to be sold for a nice profit."
But Patricia just switched allegiances from Birkins to another — very adorable — designer bag.
"Who needs a Birkin when you can have a Barkin bag," Patricia quipped on Instagram along with a photo of her new Dolce & Gabbana purse that is covered with embroidery of puppies. There are dogs on the front and back of the bag, and it's a perfect match with the pet-themed caftans, pillows, and PJs that Patricia designs as part of her line Patricia's Couture.
This purse for puppy fans isn't quite as pricey as a Birkin, but it's up there. We spotted the D&G "I Love My Dog' top handle bag made with luxe materials like velvet and iguana skin retailing on Moda Operandi for a cool $4,695. We have to wonder if this bag is on the radar of another stylish dog owner: It would look right at home in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Lisa Vanderpump's closet!
