There Might Be a Secret Meaning Behind Princess Charlotte's First Day of School Backpack
It may be a nod to her great-grandmother.
Princesses, they grow up so fast! Seemingly in the blink of an eye, Princess Charlotte is off to nursery school and Kensington Palace posted oh-so-cute photos on Instagram of the 2-year-old tot on her way to her very first day. Her school day outfit is so coordinated — which is fitting for a royal — with a burgundy coat, shoes, and even a hairbow.
She wore a little pink scarf and backpack too.
Although you can't really see all the details of the backpack in the photos, there's a rumor floating around that Princess Charlotte's little pink backpack is a sweet nod to the Royal Family.
The backpack, made by British brand Cath Kidston, is covered with images of prancing show ponies. Of course, Princess Charlotte would love horses: she comes from a family of equestrians.
The Mirror points out that Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Charlotte's great-grandmother, is well known for her love of horses. She's owned racehorses and she still rides horses at the age of 91. Impressive! Kate Middleton's already made it known that Princess Charlotte is horse-crazy, so we're guessing that the Queen approves of the little princess's hobby and this backpack too.
