Meghan Markle Brought Back the Hairstyle That Broke Royal Style Rules

Though Meghan Markle will avoid garlic out of respect for Queen Elizabeth, the duchess has yet to give up her signature hairstyle. And though the messy bun that Markle's been spotted with time and again is said to go against royal protocol, the former Suits actress shows no signs of tightening up her chignon. 

First, let's review: Back in January, the Duchess of Sussex made waves for wearing a hairstyle that had some loose ends. Apparently, you see, the royal family prefers its members to keep things a bit more sleek and polished in the hairstyle department. But despite whatever grumbling there might be at the palace, Markle has done it again. 

For an October 3 visit to a Sussex university, the new member of the royal clan wore an emerald leather skirt with a matching top. Her fingernails had only the palest swipe of pink, which seems very proper, and she had a dainty gold bracelet around her wrist. But, wait a minute! The bun is back! 

What an elegant act of rebellion.
